Protect local Event Organizers from Royal Aria
The Issue
Royal Aria is stifling local event organisers, and it is time for the government to take serious action.
Event organisers reportedly pay the required fees, only to face demands for additional payments on the day of the event. In some cases, equipment is allegedly locked up after events, leaving organisers frustrated, financially strained, and unable to operate freely.
This is unacceptable. Local event organisers should not be subjected to unexpected charges and practices that undermine their businesses and livelihoods.
We call on the government to investigate these complaints, hold Royal Aria accountable, and consider suspending the hosting of government-supported events at the venue until these concerns are addressed.
Furthermore, the government should reconsider its rental arrangements with Royal Aria, particularly where ministries and other public institutions are occupying office space. Public resources must be used responsibly, and businesses that benefit from government contracts and rental agreements should be expected to operate fairly and transparently.
Our local event industry deserves protection, fairness, and respect. The government must act in the interest of local businesses and ensure that no venue is allowed to undermine their growth and survival.
