Working together we have encouraged 70, 451 people to sign this petition and New York Senate Republicans, the only people blocking the passage of the Child Victims Act are beginning to feel the heat. Advocates have taken the campaign to where it hurts most, Senator's campaign pocket books. Yesterday advocates held a noisy protest beside the 9th tee at the Trump National Golf Course in Briarcliff, NY. Senator Flanagan, the man responsible for preventing the bill coming to the floor for a vote, was holding a $1,500 a head fundraiser there. We bet the conversation turned to us at the "19th hole,' aka the clubhouse bar. Many of the donors were sympathetic to our cause. Senator Flanagan is feeling the pressure from his donors now. Advocates are going to continue to protest in key districts. Ensuring that constituents understand that their elected leaders are bowing to well funded lobbyists who are working to prevent the passage of the bill.
