A week ago, I was hoping this petition would break 400 signatures, and it's already topped 500. A week ago, I wasn't expecting to hear Governor Cuomo's staff say that he is supporting this bill. Protecting children from sexual abuse by locking up the people who abuse them doesn't sound controversial. But special-interests have been lobbying hard to keep this bill from passing. They won't stop. The only thing that will get it passed is a show of force from the public. And that's where you come in. The more signatures it gets, the clearer it is to our elected officials that they must protect children, not their abusers.
