Child Rights Act Petition-Help Raise Awareness About Child Abuse by Submitting Your Story!

I am working on a project for the Child Rights Act Petition (Link to petition https://www.change.org/ChildRightsAct This project is meant to really tug at peoples heart strings and will be a consolidation of short slideshows of child abuse survivors personal stories. The slideshow will replace the current picture at the top of the petition. If you would like to participate please submit your slideshow to mistyegriffin@gmail.com by midnight Friday 12-02-2022. If you know anyone who may be interested in raising awareness please pass this along to them.
Slideshow Submission Guidelines
-To participate you must be 18 y.o or older
-By submitting your slideshow you agree the recipient can use it in any form to raise awareness about child abuse. You may use your slideshow however you wish outside of this project as well.
-The shorter the better. Aim for 15-45 seconds
- First slide needs to be a fairly recent ( within the last few years) picture of you. On this slide put your name and age. You may self promote on this picture, social media handle, book you wrote, podcast, activism etc. Don't make it too crowded.
-For the rest of the slideshow -Read the petition, share a couple sentences of your personal story, state at what age the physical and or sexual abuse started, and talk about how the Child Rights Act would have helped you. If your family or caregivers were religious please mention it. The whole thing needs to be just a few sentences. As short as possible to get the message across. The theme is to show the world things you would have been doing or wearing at the onset of the abuse, to really show, wow, they were just a kid. For Example, clothes, toys, cartoons, school books, Sunday school lessons or other religious things for kids ( looking for all religions) you can use real pictures but blur anyone else's face.
- Keep it fast paced, 2-3 seconds per slide. Writing must be easily legible. Be creative!
Depending on the amount of submissions I receive I may not be able to use every slide show. Shorter, engaging slide shows will be more likely to be selected. I am looking for something that will really grab the hearts of America and potential lawmakers. The most important part is to represent the age at the onset of abuse ( infant - 17 y.o) to really bring that to life for people. They can be pictures you have, pictures you take of things, pictures you draw from memory, or pictures you pull from the internet. The pictures need to be things you remember from that time or things that fit the age from that time period.
Many thanks to everyone who participates. We need to find a way to really get America's attention on this issue. This could possibly do that!
