7/22 pm big event in Jingu Gaien
On Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm there will be a large demonstration in Jingu Gaien, on the west side of the plaza in front of the Meiji Memorial Museum.
The demonstration is being organized by the same group of friends of composer Ryuichi Sakamoto who held an event in April that was attended by 6000 people.
The event will feature musicians including Gotch, Yosuke Inoue, midori, eri, Ryu Takada, and Aoi Mizuno.
For the last 30 minutes of the event, participants will gather in small circles of 10-20 people for dialogue. This will be an opportunity to share ideas about the future of Jingu Gaien and what is the ideal shape of the cityscape.
Protest opportunity Saturday and Sunday during the day too
The lead developer in the Jingu Gaien project, Mitsui Fudosan, in the height of hypocrisy, will hold an SDGs (U.N. sustainable development goals) themed event on July 22 (Sat) and 23 (Sun).
Why does a company planning to cut down trees in a 100-year forest feel that it's qualified to talk about the SDGs?
We will protest in front of the event venue on both Saturday and Sunday, from 11 am to 1 pm each day. Please join us in protesting Mitsui Fudosan's greenwashing.
Everyone is encouraged to wear SAVE JINGU GAIEN shirts or green clothing and bring placards if possible. Also bring some water to stay hydrated!
Location: In front of Prism Hall at Tokyo Dome City
