Japanese version of this update here. このアップデートの日本語版はこちら

We're having another demo at Tokyo Metropolitan Office Building, from 6-7 pm tomorrow (Wednesday April 26th). Please join us!

We are doing this protest on the eve of the Environmental Assessment Committee meeting. The city is trying to steamroll through a wrap up the process, rather than letting the environmental assessment committee examine the many unresolved issues about the process. We are trying to call attention to the city's shennanigans in hopes of shaming them into allowing the committee to do the environmental assessment properly.

We demand that the city let the environmental committee continue its deliberations on the Jingu Gaien redevelopment.

As part of the demo we are going to do a call and response of "bassai hantai" (we oppose cutting down trees) and "keizoku shingi" (continued deliberations).

I wonder if this is going to be the first time in history that there was a demonstration held with the specific purpose of supporting an environmental assessment, with people screaming for the committee to be allowed to continue its deliberations!

Please wear green and bring a placard with your protest message. Sunset will be at 6:22 so bring a flashlight and anything glow-in-the-dark that you have, like glow sticks.

Also if you have any hand-held drum, tambourine or other percussion instrument please bring that too!

Please join us! It's only an hour, you can stop by on your way home from work. There's strength in numbers!
