Remember: You don’t have to speak at the meeting, but your presence will send a powerful message. Let’s stand together to keep our neighborhoods family-friendly and our commercial zones thriving.
We have reached a crucial moment in our ongoing efforts to shape the future of our neighborhoods. The commissioners will be discussing the final resolution to keep Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVRs) in commercial zones and out of residential and A1 zones. This important discussion will take place on May 29th, followed by a decisive vote on June 5th.
Your Presence is Vital:
We need your support! Showing up in person is crucial. You don't need to speak—your presence alone will make a significant impact. It's like casting a vote; when the commissioners look out into the audience, they need to see that our community stands united for this cause.
Why It Matters:
- Preserve Family and Community Life:
- Residential neighborhoods are built for families and long-term residents. Introducing STVRs into these areas disrupts the peace and stability that families rely on.
- Safety and security concerns often rise with the frequent turnover of STVR guests, impacting children and families the most.
2. Maintain Property Values and Quality of Life:
-
- Continuous influxes of short-term renters can negatively affect property values.
- Long-term residents invest in their homes and communities.
- Preserving residential zones for permanent residents ensures the continued investment in and care for our neighborhoods.
3. Support Local Businesses:
-
- Keeping STVRs in commercial zones ensures that local businesses benefit from increased foot traffic and patronage from tourists.
- Commercial areas are designed to handle the influx of visitors without disrupting daily life for residents.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to preserving the integrity and safety of our community.
See you there!
