On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, the Environment and Natural Resources Committee voted 5-2 in support of the bill (SB 632 - Taking of Bears).

Senate Bill 632 - Taking of Bears must pass through four more committee hearings, then a House and  Senate floor vote, then the Governor must sign it into law.

The bill (SB 632 - Taking of Bears) has now moved to the Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Environment, and General Government. We still have time to stop these bills from becoming law. The next committee hearing dates have not been scheduled yet. We will update everyone when that information is made available.

We want to thank everyone who has signed our petition, completed the calls to action, and attended the legislative hearings. Together, we can stop this bear-killing, people-endangering bill.

Please contact Senator Polsky and Senator Stewart and THANK them for their votes against this bill (SB 632 - Taking of Bears) and for standing up for what is right. Senator Polsky fought especially hard. Both she and Senator Stewart should be commended for their actions.
