One powerful way to address this challenge is to use the 13 acres of land the town already owns. Instead of building more houses or businesses on this land, the town could turn it into an accessible urban forest or green space. This green area could help soak up rainwater naturally, reducing the chances of flooding and keeping the water cleaner. Plus, it could save money because the town wouldn’t need to build as many expensive drains and pipes to handle the water.
