Great news — in addition to our Change.org petition, an official petition has been lodged with the Victorian Parliament. This provides a formal avenue for our voices to be heard directly by Members of Parliament.

The official petition was initiated by Steve Peel, a sixth-generation farmer from Barunah Plains and a dedicated CFA volunteer. Steve has been a vocal advocate against the proposed Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund (ESVF), emphasizing the disproportionate financial burden it places on rural communities and volunteers.

You can view and sign the official parliamentary petition here:

By signing, you’re supporting a call for:

Immediate cessation of the ESVF’s introduction.
Retention of the current Fire Services Property Levy.
A genuine consultation process involving CFA and SES volunteers, farmers, emergency service workers, and other stakeholders to develop a fairer funding model for Victorian emergency services.

Thank you for standing with farmers, CFA volunteers, and rural communities. Let’s continue to advocate for equitable solutions.
