Hello everyone,

First of all we want to voice our appreciation for the overwhelming support the petition got over the last weeks. For the purpose of transparency, we would like to give a small update:

Last week, in response to the petition, the DEI(Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) team of HVHL reached out to us and we, students of VHL, had a meeting with them on Monday. During the meeting, we talked about the problems and inequalities emerging from this project, and we will have a meeting in the near future to discuss this with the project lead of 'Bring your own device'. To find suitable solutions to the questions of educational equality, we would like you to give us input on how you see the situation. Please, send us the issues this creates for you personally and potential solutions or compromises.

The current developments are made in an exclusive and undemocratic manner. To reach real social inclusion and ensure that every voice is heard, decisions need to be made democratically, involving and not only consulting their “democratic body”, while then not listening to their advice. To create a just and equitable working environment real democratic structures are needed, ensuring participation on all levels, we wish to enable that and create a space in which every opinion is heard. So that we want to invite you to take part in this process.
We firmly believe that the best course of action would be to keep the ICT resources in school, if there is no possible way to reach this, we are willing to compromise as long as it secures the points asked for in the petition. We welcome all kinds of messages to get a full picture of the struggles that are needed to be addressed.

Kind regards,
Fellow students of VHL
