The ProTECT Act of 2025, which is to ban trophy hunting of endangered and threatened species within the U.S. and ban the import of such trophies into the U.S., has received a new bill number: H.R. 1934.  Representative Ted Lieu has introduced it to the House Committee of Natural Resources.

What is not new is the lives of endangered and threatened species everywhere are under threat from all directions; they lack protection from trophy hunting, poaching, and wildlife trafficking. Wildlife habitats are also facing destruction for the extraction of natural resources, and species are experiencing the challenges of climate change.

Real-time threats include:

·      Bears and wolves in Alaska are slated to be aerial gunned this May despite science repeatedly demonstrating that these species are critical to maintaining ecosystem balance.

·      Our public lands, the key habitat endangered and threatened species need for survival, are being handed over to drill for natural resources.

Wildlife everywhere needs us to step up.

Our responsibility is to use our voices to advocate for the rights of threatened and endangered species that do not have a voice.

Being united and standing together can blaze a trail for their future.  Just five minutes is all you need to call or email your federal representative and let them know you want to see the ProTECT Act of 2025 passed and ask them to co-sponsor the bill! Click here to find your representative.  Please go the extra step and share this petition with others.

In solidarity,

Nicole
