Let's raise our voices to protect the grizzly bears and wolves whose existence is under threat in the U.S. It's crucial that we take action to ensure the safety and preservation of these magnificent creatures.
We find ourselves at a pivotal moment where the future of endangered and threatened wildlife depends on the choices we make. As humans, we hold the power to change the trajectory for wildlife populations that are dwindling.
The Center for Biological Diversity reports that 94 grizzly bears were fatally shot last year in Alaska, leaving behind orphaned cubs. Combined with the hunting of grizzlies this year, the death toll has nearly reached 200. In the western states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permits the hunting of wolves, a practice that could potentially lead to the loss of 75% of the wolf populations in these regions. In Montana, hunters are allowed to hunt up to 20 wolves, with a hunting license costing only $12.
As we strive for progress in human society, we must extend the same effort to safeguard the future of wildlife that shares this land with us. As we have the ability to influence the fate of other beings, we need to advocate for change by urging the U.S. government to take a stand for the wildlife that calls this land home. It is our responsibility to ensure that wildlife is granted the freedom and stability they deserve.
Let's be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Join us in signing and sharing this petition and contacting your federal legislator to support the ProTECT Act, H.R. 7840, which aims to prohibit trophy hunting of endangered and threatened wildlife. You can find your legislator here. Together, we can make a difference.
