“But perhaps the most important lesson I learned is that there are no walls between humans and the elephants except those we put up ourselves, and that until we allow not only elephants, but all living creatures their place in the sun, we can never be whole ourselves.” ― Lawrence Anthony

World Elephant Day was August 12th.  On this day we celebrate the lives of elephants and reflect on the significance of wildlife. Wild(life) represents more than just animals in their natural habitats; the term life embodies the capacity to thrive, evolve, and coexist. It encapsulates the experiences of being alive, including love, grief, and forming connections with others.

To champion the lives of endangered and threatened species like elephants, let us support The Prohibiting Threatened and Endangered Creatures Trophies Act of 2024 (ProTECT Act of 2024, bill H.R. 7840).  This bill has been introduced in U.S. Congress to safeguard threatened and endangered species. However, the collective voice of concerned individuals is essential to ensure the passage of this bill.

Join me in advocating for the preservation of our planet's most vulnerable species. If you reside in the United States, I urge you to contact your federal lawmakers to request their support for the Prohibiting Threatened and Endangered Species Trophies Act of 2024 (ProTECT Act of 2024, bill H.R. 7840) as a single action can have a monumental impact on the future of endangered wildlife globally. You can easily find your federal legislators by visiting www.pluralpolicy.com.

Let's unite and make a difference!
