It may not be thousands like other petitions, but to me every single name matters. Many of them are people who know us, people who care, people who believe that children deserve to be safe.
Today I won’t pretend to be strong all the time. Today I feel sad.
Someone showed me a recent photo of my grandson. He is still wearing the same little clothes, still very thin. Seeing that broke my heart.
But I also saw something else a small smile.
And in that moment I realized something important: if he, wherever he is, can still hold on to hope that life will get better, then I cannot give up on him.
So we keep going.
