Thank You: Awareness is Working
Our goal was simple: get the word out about the proposed battery energy storage facility. When information first surfaced in July, it became clear that only a handful of residents had been notified — while many others remained completely unaware. That lack of communication is exactly how projects like this advance with little public scrutiny, and that has to change.
Awareness is our strongest tool right now. If you believe this issue deserves proper transparency and public input, you joined the effort by signing the petition, joining the Facebook group, and sharing our messages. Thank you. Your response has been incredible.
I want to be completely transparent about what's happening behind the scenes with our petition dashboard, so everyone understands the impact.
The Real Numbers: What They Mean
• Our petition in one week now shows over 600 supporters, 9,722 views, and 433 shares.
• One number deserves special recognition: 24 promoters.
• Promoters on Change.org are supporters who went beyond signing — they contributed money ($295 total) to help our petition reach more people. Their support paid for 3,478 additional views, which led to 41 new signatures.
• Each promoter contributed about $12 on average, reflecting broad community support.
Why This Matters
Every signature, every share, and every new group member has helped spread awareness. All 600+ signers — and especially the voluntary promoters — deserve heartfelt thanks. Please let me be clear, this is not a request for money; it’s an explanation of how Change.org amplifies community causes.
• Some views are organic (found naturally), others are "purchased views" (funded by promoters). Both help but you deserve to know the difference.
• This transparency helps everyone understand how online petitions spread and why every action counts.
What’s Most Important
Every signature represents someone who learned about this issue and chose to take action. Whether they found us through a share, a search, or a promoted post — every supporter strengthens our community’s awareness and voice. They’re real people who now know what’s happening in our community.
What Comes Next
This is how real change begins—with people paying attention, asking questions, and refusing to be left out of important decisions. Our collective effort makes clear that our land, safety, and future matter to us and must include us.
Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, joined, or contributed. You are making awareness happen—and that is exactly what we need right now. Communities like ours won’t be left out of the conversation. When people come together, even quietly at first, our voices become impossible to ignore.
How You Can Help Keep Momentum
• Please keep the conversation going
• Share the petition on social media—posts are easy to miss, so sharing multiple times makes a big difference.
• Invite friends, neighbours, and community members to join the Facebook group and stay informed.
• Use the petition’s custom link to make it easier for others to remember and share.
• Remind people in online communities about our cause.
• Some folks need to see a petition more than once to take action—don’t hesitate to re-share with your network, it’s a lot to take in.
Every time you share, comment, or invite someone, you help us build awareness and a stronger community voice—a real step toward transparency and public input.
