Every year, as we know, there is a lot of awareness (ribbons, rallies, NFL players wearing pink, etc.) for breast cancer and other types of cancer, however not a lot of awareness for prostate cancer patients and survivors. A lot of people are even unaware that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month despite it being the leading cause of cancer in men with 164,690 new cases every year in the U.S and 29,430 deaths. 

Prostate cancer, as well as any other form of cancer, hurts the lives of patients and families. A lot of prostate cancer cases could be treated in earlier stages if men were more informed and motivated to have a proper screening. This petition calls for National Prostate Awareness month in September to instill more awareness by hosting more rallies, making blue ribbons, getting government officials, athletes, etc. to talk more about it and help save more lives.
