It's so unfortunate that we are here today, because, had authorities taken the time to do a thorough investigation and look into all possibilities, Leonard may not have lost the last nine years of his life, away from his children, living in unimaginable conditions. The affidavits that were recently filed as new evidence in Leonard's favor listed the exact same perpetrator that Leonard brought up to authorities, when he was interrogated.
