Hi all

Our petition is getting traction and I thank each and everyone of you who signed and shared- love you all and what you stand for. However, we need at least 10,000  signatures to send a strong message and for this to be debated in parliament.

Thomas Sewell and the NSN represent for many an aberration, an anomaly, but in my experience, they represent the cultural norm in Australian society, and instead of being covert and hidden, they are now becoming more overt, emboldened by a new social climate that enables it to be so and almost celebrates and takes pride in it.

Institutional racism is ever-present in our education, criminal justice and health systems. I know this from decades of research and working in these spaces, witnessing it first-hand. But most First Nations and Culturally and Racially Marginalised peoples know this and have known most of their cognisant lives.

These neo Nazis do not only affect black and brown people, immigrants of colour or other religions or sexualities, they hurt and taint the very fabric of our society and who we are as human beings. It's easy to turn a blind eye and hope it will go away or send the problem elsewhere, as we've recently seen with the deportation of the South African member of the NSN. It may be inconvenient for them for a little while but does absolutely nothing to address the problem of home grown white-supremacist terrorism. The organisation still exists, Thomas Sewell is free to do as he pleases and we all just live in hope that we don't see another Anders Breivik or a Brenton Tarrant go on a mass killing spree on home soil.

If you haven't already, please share this petition and/or donate so that the petition can reach more people and get more signatures. Let's send a strong message that we stand for social justice and human rights, push our leaders to do something more significant and humane, call it for what it is and prosecute it for what it is- TERRORISM.
