Could Trump have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder?

Interestingly, everyone talks about Trump's brother who died of alcohol, and how Trump himself does not drink because of this.

But if you look into the archives, his parents are Scottish and German of a certain generation of immigrant entrepreneurs -- and color photographs of them in their older years show pale faces, florid cheeks and other signs that could indicate at least a commonplace generational class enthusiasm for social drinking.

Trump was born at a time when fetal alcohol syndrome was entirely unknown. There was no reason for a woman to refrain from drinking during pregnancy unless she was abstemious on principle.

Trump has a face that could reflect Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder.

This is not Trump's problem. It's a western problem particularly.

Turns out alcohol is a nasty teratogen.

Cultures that don't drink or don't let women drink tend to test out or be smarter and/or more intellectual. What an unpopular idea. But it's not genetic, in all likelihood.

But yes, Trump's folks, by generation and class, would have been social drinkers.

And the signs of FASD in a similarly aged template:

He shows behavior and cognitive signs also.

The four diagnostic systems list various CNS domains that can qualify for functional impairment that can determine an FASD diagnosis (and sorry, you may want to read this on Wikipedia):

Evidence of a complex pattern of behavior or cognitive abnormalities inconsistent with developmental level in the following CNS domains – Sufficient for a pFAS or ARND diagnosis using IOM guidelines[16]
Learning disabilities, academic achievement, impulse control, social perception, communication, abstraction, math skills, memory, attention, judgment
Performance at two or more standard deviations on standardized testing in three or more of the following CNS domains – Sufficient for an FAS, pFAS or static encephalopathy diagnosis using 4-Digit Diagnostic Code[20]
Executive functioning, memory, cognition, social/adaptive skills, academic achievement, language, motor skills, attention, activity level
General cognitive deficits (e.g., IQ) at or below the 3rd percentile on standardized testing – Sufficient for an FAS diagnosis using CDC guidelines[22]
Performance at or below the 16th percentile on standardized testing in three or more of the following CNS domains – Sufficient for an FAS diagnosis using CDC guidelines[22]
Cognition, executive functioning, motor functioning, attention and hyperactive problems, social skills, sensory processing disorder, social communication, memory, difficulties responding to common parenting practices
Performance at two or more standard deviations on standardized testing in three or more of the following CNS domains – Sufficient for an FAS diagnosis using Canadian guidelines
Cognition, communication, academic achievement, memory, executive functioning, adaptive behavior, motor skills, social skills, social communication

I have previously said, there's nothing wrong with a man overcoming disability to succeed.

There is something wrong with a man ashamed of his disabilities, and it only recently occurred to me that alcohol related disability would lock that admission in hard for Trump because of his brother, and possibly shame or rage over his parents' roles in his brother's relationship to alcohol. Such unresolved issues could make a man driven to unchecked ambition -- inherently without the social brakes that a neurotypical might otherwise have built in.

It's a pretty amazing personality simulation to run -- a congenital dry drunk sociopath co-dependent personality terror, who behind the broken interfaces (and who could empathize with this better?) is likely a real genius trapped in broken neurology. Flashes of pure "evil genius" strategy, requiring a cloud of minions but providing real world proof of competence to a sphere of influence. But serious impairments to personal executive function and other aspects that he has to maintain enough power to retain reasonable accommodation.

And yes, if you've ever listened to a FASD or a person with serious alcohol dementia (similar damage, it feels like) rant on in paranoia? It's likely he believes everything he rants on about at any particular moment. Little Mittens is Little Boots.

Imagine perhaps Wolff's book is accurate? I only entertained this after a week or two of firm denial.

It fits.

It's a hypothesis.
