Petition updateProposed high voltage line through private properties and communities

Taseko (Trekor) doesn't care about our communities and they just proved it.

Tasko has renamed recently to Trekor but they still don't care. They have held their public feedback meetings and are ignoring our communities requests to not cut up our back yards, forests, wetlands, range lands, timber leases, and traplines. They don't care how this will affect our property values and the disruption it will create during building and annual maintenance.
Their response to all of this is this map, with potential minor variations that still affect many of us.
The alternatives that we have presented have been shut down.

BC Hydro's Freedom of Information office released documents stating they are exploring using the Mica Creek supply to power the entire Thompson corridor, which desperately needs more power and will need even more when the mine is built and has to accommodate an influx of people.
Yet Trekor (Taseko) is fixed on this route.

We gave them an alternative that could come out of 100 Mile, using existing easements and an old line that went to Hendrix, which would also improve a tourism path from Canim to Clearwater and welcome more tourists to the area, but since it's longer, they are not even entertaining it.

So now we need to let them know this is not an option. Please contact Lorne Doerkson and ask him to put pressure on BC Hydro to change the interconnect to Mica Creek and get Trekor/Taseko to run the line from there.

The Mica Creek line doesn't affect any properties, it has an easier and shorter run for the mine where there are already many logging roads. It also can feed the corridor which needs more power anyways. It is the ideal route for that community.
We just need BC Hydro to say yes, go ahead and use it, and the mine will leave us alone. We will still have the few potential benefits of the mine and whatever work it may provide, but we will not have the negative impact of a power line that gives our communities literally nothing.
Please share, sign, and write to our MLA to get political pressure on this.

Thank you all!
