If the movement started by this petition has touched your heart in any way, and if you'd like to continue contributing to its success, please support the art show this weekend, "Biting Back - Art for a Good Paws," in whatever capacity you are able.
Our strength always has been, and will continue to be, in numbers and unity. After all, the larger powers-that-be certainly were (and are) not going to listen any other way. Thank you in advance for your support, and a heartfelt thanks to those of you who have already contributed. You are rock stars.
So HOW can you help?
1. PARTICIPATE: Come one, come all! Attend the show and buy art! See time/date logistics below.
2. SPREAD THE WORD: Email family and friends. Find Biting Back on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and tag your friends. Repost their posts to help promote the event (@bitingbacknyc). Continue using the hashtags #tortureisnotart and #guggenheimtortureisnotart. Contact the organizers with ideas or comments via their website www.bitingbacknyc.com.
3. DONATE: If you can’t attend or are unable to purchase art, please consider donating to the art show's fundraiser (link featured in this update - click it below). The more funds we raise from this event, the louder the message to the Guggenheim, and the greater the benefit to the animals. $5 is all you need to make an impact.
Here are the details (check previous updates to learn more):
WHAT: “Biting Back – Art for a Good Paws” is a charity art show raising both awareness and funds on behalf of animals, in direct response to the Guggenheim's statement. Over 40 artists and nearly two dozen businesses have donated art pieces and raffle prizes. 100% of proceeds from sales and raffles will be donated to Animal Haven, a shelter doing vital work for animals in the NYC area.
WHERE: A Bar Brooklyn, 597 Manhattan Ave., Brooklyn NY 11222. A Bar Brooklyn has generously donated their space for this event.

• Sat, Dec 2: 1-6 p.m.
• Sun, Dec 3: 1-5 p.m.

4. You want to continue discourse on appropriate use of animals in art
5. You want to be a part of something positive coming out of the Guggenheim fiasco
6. You want to hang out with me or any of the amazing artists and organizers who will be there
Thanks again - for your compassion, your comments, and your support in all forms. And the biggest thanks goes to Eliza, Kim, and Liz - the inspirational women responsible for putting this whole show together and enabling us to continue this vital conversation.
I eagerly await to see how everything goes this weekend. Look for an update again next week, and have a fantastic (and giving) weekend!
