- VICTORY! -
Earlier today, Spike Chunsoft put out a press release announcing that CHAOS;HEAD NOAH has been reinstated on Steam!
They write, "We believe this decision is the result of the unwavering support from fans of the Science Adventure Series as well as all of the players who are eagerly awaiting the release of this title. Your voices have been heard. We sincerely appreciate your commitment."
Just as Spike Chunsoft says, this is due to the passion of the fans. Thank you all so much!
However, there's a couple more things to talk about—regarding NOAH, plus the future of visual novels on Steam.
- THE TRANSLATION -
Unfortunately, as NOAH reviews roll out, evidence shows the official translation... isn't in a good state.
Untranslated Japanese, broken English, game-breaking bugs, mistranslations...
It's fair to say the official translation is not an accurate representation of NOAH. What to do, then?
Thankfully, the Committee of Zero is working on a downloadable patch for the PC and Switch releases. It'll replace the translation, fix bugs, and remove censorship.
Do note, as CoZ says, that this is a mod for the official release—not a replacement for it.

- THE FUTURE -
On a brighter note, let's draw attention to this passage from Valve.
"Valve's content review team, the group that made the original decision, has re-examined CHAOS;HEAD NOAH and decided to reverse course and allow the game to ship on Steam, as is. We've also examined the process that led to the previous decision about CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, and made some changes to avoid situations like this in the future."
It appears that Valve has re-evaluated the way it handles game approvals to avoid similar situations to NOAH's in the future.
As NOAH is only the latest in a series of unjust bans, this is a great victory!
- THANK YOU! -
We couldn't be any more grateful to the nearly five thousand people that signed this petition! We're so glad it seems to have made a difference.
Thank you once again.
We hope you all will keep standing up for the freedom of visual novels!
This is Operation HiddenHand, signing off once again.
