Prohibit U.S. alcohol sales
The Issue
I have been completely clean and sober since 3/12/1994, and throughout this journey, I have dedicated myself to helping others achieve sobriety. Despite these efforts, many of the individuals I've attempted to support have tragically passed away, often taking innocent lives with them. Alcohol is the most dangerous drug consumed by humans due to the zombie-like blackout states it can induce. While some individuals are able to drink moderately, the overwhelming number of deaths attributed to alcohol consumption cannot justify its continued legality.
Alcohol contributes significantly to various social problems, including accidents, violence, and long-term health issues. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, approximately 95,000 people die annually from alcohol-related causes in the United States, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also report that excessive alcohol use costs the U.S. $249 billion per year, taking into account lost productivity, healthcare costs, and criminal justice expenses.
My wife, a dedicated medical doctor, and I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of alcohol not only on individuals but on families and communities as well. We need to address this urgent issue by prohibiting the sale of alcohol across the United States, thereby significantly reducing the harm caused by alcohol consumption.
By signing this petition, you are advocating for a healthier and safer society. Join us in urging lawmakers to take immediate action to ban alcohol sales, prioritizing the well-being of current and future generations. Please sign this petition and help us make this crucial change happen.
