The Bastrop City Council is meeting this evening, Tuesday, August 25, at 5:30 PM, and this is our opportunity to make sure the people who signed this petition aren't just names on a webpage—they're citizens who expect to be heard.

Please show up early, come prepared, and be ready to provide public input.

And here's something important: you don't necessarily have to live inside the City limits for this issue to affect you.

Do you work in Bastrop?
Shop in Bastrop?
Go to restaurants, churches, parks, schools, or businesses in Bastrop?
Visit family and friends there?
Spend a significant part of your week in the city?

If so, your movements can be captured by these systems too.

This isn't simply about where you sleep at night. It's about whether government should be creating searchable records of where people travel while going about their ordinary lives.

If you live in Bastrop, your voice matters directly to the City Council. If you live outside the city but work, shop, visit, or regularly spend time there, this affects you too.

You don't need to give a long speech. You don't need to be an expert on surveillance technology or constitutional law. Simply tell the Council, respectfully and clearly, why you oppose the government's use of Flock cameras and mass collection of information about ordinary citizens.
