BRYAN FORBESPort Rowan, Canada
Feb 24, 2023

I just had a call with the president of Canadian operations at Parkland.  After speaking with our Mayor Amy Martin, Parkland has agreed to partner with the county to try and source a new owner for this property.  The list price and details will be available soon.

At the end of the conversation I felt comfortable that Parkland is listening and on-board to help us fill this essential service void in Port Rowan.

Ian did not commit or make any promises but he has agreed to discuss with his team the option of extending the Esso closure until a new owner can be found.  This has yet to be determined.

I feel we are making an impact here and we certainly have the attention we were looking for.

I’ve asked that Parkland reach out to us and keep us posted on any positive changes they are able to make

“Strength in numbers do make a difference.”

I have conveyed the feedback from everyone that this essential service is vital to our retirement community and the world of tourism that come to experience our Biosphere.  As long time supporters of Esso (12 years) we as a community expect to be considered and involved in the decisions that impact our lives

We feel abandoned, with such short notice this has been devastating to the community.

Please continue to share this petition to grow our support and continue to keep a community focus on this matter. Parkland understands that we do not wish to have a boarded-up eye-sore on this site

Our past support for Parkland warrants their support now.  Together we can hopefully find a positive outcome for these changes

Thank you to everyone and please keep spreading the word and sharing our petition.
