Once again, thanks to everyone who has signed. Apologies for the lack of updates - I have been travelling over the past week.
Our campaign is continuing to gain momentum and in recent days, not one but two radio segments have been aired about the closure of Modern Languages and its impact on students and staff.
On Tuesday, languages student Aoife Monaghan spoke on Q Radio in a very interesting interview which highlighted some of the inconsistencies within the University's closure arguments
Meanwhile Anthea Irwin from UCU (University and Colleges' Union) Ulster appeared on BBC Radio Ulster's Evening Extra yesterday to discuss the cuts.
It was another revealing interview in that it exposed precisely how hasty the University's decision to close Modern Languages was.
It appears that the University's management acted without proper consultation with staff, a situation which may leave it open to legal action in the future.
The two radio segments can be found at these addresses:

Finally, please keep on sharing the petition and telling people about it. We need you to act as recruiting agents - there is a lot of opposition to the closure but not all of these potential supporters are familiar with the petition and our campaign.
You should also like the campaign's Facebook page. It is often updated more regularly than here: https://www.facebook.com/saveulsterlang?fref=ts
