Our petition letter with current signature list was presented to the Director General of the National Museum of the Royal Navy on the 15th Feb, 2017, along with a written petition handed over by local resident Phil Saunders. Professor Tweddle welcomed the feedback from all the petitioners and explained that the decision of the Yompers fate will be given thorough consideration and careful thought by the Board of Trustees. The public consultation process finishes at the end of this month, after which it will be discussed at the Board meetings. The Board of Trustees meet 4 times a year so the decision is unlikely to be made for at least 6 months, during which our online petition will remain open and continue to collect signatures.
