Since our petition was launched their have been posts on Bus Ride asking for clarification on why Carol Cahalane was so bad as a Dean of Students. We want to clarify her behaviour with specific examples.  One example is her handling of the accusations of hazing and bullying against Soule Hall. On tuesday night, members of Soule were marched out of their dorms at 10 and brought to the Agora. Carol then preceded to confiscate every member of Soule's phone and then gave a long talk about how she had received reports of bullying and hazing in Soule. She then ordered every member of Soule to write down instances in which they may have bullied or hazed Soule members. She reminded the boys of that dorm that if they "lied" on their paper the consequences would be severe. Many confused Soule Hall members who knew of no hazing or bullying in the dorm asked for clarification on the definition of hazing and bullying, and then several members of the dorm asked what they should report if they didn't remember an event, or were unsure if something qualified under the school's definition. Her responses were rude, condescending and arrogant and she refused to clarify one student's question even after reminding the members of Soule that failing to write down an event that could be considered hazing or bullying would result in serious consequences. The way she handled these allegations, which have as of know, resulted in no known repercussions confused and angered Soule residents who protested the school's decision.
