Whereas Princeton Public Schools, on March 28, the same day that Rider announced its attempt to sell Westminster Choir College over the following year, passed a resolution laying out a plan to purchase the real estate property of the WCC campus

Whereas said resolution calls for hiring of Spiezele Architecture Group to plan a referendum to raise funds for the purchase of the campus property out from under Westminster Choir College

Whereas the resolution calls for filing of a request to the Princeton Planning Board to designate the need for a new school site and the Westminster Choir College campus as the location of that site in the Township's master plan

Whereas the resolution also calls for seeking proposals from consulting and other firms with expertise in the fields of land acquisition, financial advising and bond counsel for the purpose of acquiring the Westminster Choir College property

Whereas board member Justin Doran stated that the plan is for Princeton Public Schools to be the first to make a move to buy the Westminster Choir College Property

Whereas Rider's willingness to sell the property separately from the educational component of Westminster Choir College demonstrates intention to liquidate the properties that are associated with Westminster Choir College

Whereas liquidation of the real estate properties of WCC in effect will make it impossible for the college to survive or for it to be adopted by any other parent institution

Therefore be it Resolved:
That the Princeton Public School Board rescind its resolution and disavow its intent to purchase the real estate properties of the Westminster Choir College Campus;

Be it further resolved:

That the Princeton Planning Board Reject the application from the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education to name the Westminster Choir College real estate property in the township's master plan as a site for new Township school facilities;

That Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert speaks out against the attempt to buy the real estate property of Westminster Choir College out from under the historic institution;

That Princeton Regional Education Association and Princeton Educational Support Staff Association, in solidarity with sister and brother union members of Rider AAUP, notify the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education to express opposition to the move by PPS on the Westminster Choir College real estate;

That the people of Princeton overwhelmingly reject any referendum planning and ultimately if it comes to it, referendum question supporting the purchase of the real estate property of Westminster Choir College;

And that Princeton renews its commitment and its reputation as a patron in support of strong music and arts in our culture and rejects participation in de-facto liquidation of Westminster Choir College
