The Household Cavalry Regiment (HCR) is an Armoured Cavalry regiment permanently based at Combermere Barracks in Windsor. The HCR sits within the Reactive Force of the British Army and is ready to respond to crises anywhere around the world.

The barracks date back to 1804, from which time it has always been the 
quarters of the Household Cavalry.

On the 16th December 2016 soldiers and families were told AFTER it was released to the press, that the Household Cavalry Regiment will leave Combermere Barracks in Windsor to join a new strike brigade operating out of Catterick and Salisbury Plain, based around the new Ajax armoured vehicle.

My husband joined the Household Cavalry regiment because it didn't move around, and because it is based in Windsor. Local men and women have joined this regiment because they are based near family and friends. 

The upheaval for hundreds of families is so unfair and the way it has been published is unprofessional and again sums up how the army treat 'families' and their soldiers. A brief was given to the lads, then they were sent on leave!  No other information has been handed out. 

As far as the army are concerned my husband is a number and his family is a bolt on, an inconvenience. No one in government care how this will affect any of us, why would they? 

So the options left to the families are sign off, leave the army. Which would also mean for many of us leaving Windsor, price of houses pushes us away. 

Move to Wiltshire, shut up and put up, which inevitably will happen, even for us, as much as it devastates me to admit. Leaving our friends, jobs, schools, we have worked so hard to get. Moving further away from families in many cases too. 

My husband has said this petition will make no difference, they won't listen to me. It may even get my husband into trouble, because that is what the army is like, they make our husbands, sons and fathers fight for our freedom of speech, however they get them to sign a covenant which stops them from speaking freely. Shut up and put up! Do as your told or there will be consequences!!!

Ive had enough, we should have had a say, families should of been involved, this shouldn't of been a rumour that had no answers! 

Please sign this petition for all the soldiers and families that don't have a say, and have no choice. I just want someone to take notice and maybe things may start to change!
