A huge thank you to everyone who has already backed MedCan Support's winter fundraiser. Unbelievably, after only a week we have already raised over a third of the target. But there is still a way to go. I know times are hard, but if you are able to, please consider making a donation today.

MedCan Support was set up to support the many families still struggling to access and pay for the medication they need to keep their children either seizure free or hugely reduced seizures.
Children like Louis, pictured. Four years ago Louis developed epilepsy as a result of a rare genetic disorder. His seizures steadily got worse and eventually doctors at Great Ormond Street told his family there was nothing more they could do. But unbelievably, Louis is now seizure free. This is nothing short of a miracle for this family, and only possible because he was able to access cannabis-based medication in Holland. Yet having won the fight against his seizures, Louis now has another battle to face; raising thousands of pounds every month to keep funding his medication privately. Medication that is legal and should be available on the NHS.
Louis is not alone. There are many other children caught in this appalling situation. Worse still, we now know many families are turning to the illicit market because they cannot obtain a prescription. This cannot go on.
MedCan Support is battling tirelessly to win NHS access for the children with refractory epilepsy, so no more families find themselves in this dire situation. They are doing this by shortly launching a data collection trial more news on this soon. More than that, MedCan Support provide education to parents and patients, and support parents too scared to talk to their doctors about cannabinoid medication. This cannot go on.
MedCan Support do not have backing from big pharma or corporations, but if every person who signed this petition could give £1.00 it would be enough to help us continue our work we have planned for next year, and also provide many hardship grants for our families, vital research and training courses for parent and patients.
So please if you can, take one minute to give £1.00 and let's make change happen.
