TEAM GOENCHO AVAAZ HAS A DETAILED 4 - HOUR DISCUSSION WITH DIRECTOR-NRI AFFAIRS MR. ANTHONY D'SOUZA

Team Goencho Avaaz comprising of Mr. Judas Barreto, Roshan Mathias, Swapnesh Sherlekar and Capt. Viriato Fernandes, had a very intense, issue based but fruitful 04 - hour meeting today with the Director - NRI Affairs, Mr.  Anthony D’souza.

After discussing various intricacies involved, the various stake holders beginning with the 22,500 seafarers, the central government agencies viz. MHA, MEA, DG Shipping, Immigration Agencies, Aviation Authorities, modes of evacuation, Medical procedures, the various cruise companies, the probable hurdles, difficulties, etc, the meeting ended on a very fruitful note, but with the resolve to jointly face the challenge staring at the state and the country.

Goencho Avaaz has agreed to closely work with the state government agency headed by the NRI Commissioner to fast track the procedures on a war footing and ensuring the safe return of our Goan seafarers and all our countrymen in a safe and secure manner.

We once again request/appeal concerned organizations not to politicize the issue and hamper the process of getting our stranded brethren back home.
