India has laws that prohibit slaughter of cows & other bovines because of the cow's traditional status as a respected creature of God in India. Article 48 of the Constitution of India mandates the state to prohibit the slaughter of cows and calves and other milch and draught cattle.

The state of Maharashtra, under the Animal Preservation (Amendment) Bill, 1995, banned beef from the slaughter of bulls and bullocks, which was previously allowed.

Many other states have followed suit & banned the slaughter of bovines & trade & consumption of beef.

While the slaughter of bovines & consumption, trade or storage of beef is banned within India, it is being freely exported by slaughtering bovines in India. This is absolutely unacceptable to Indians.

We want an immediate & complete ban on export of beef (including the meat of water buffalo) & any other bovine body part, processed or unprocessed, for any reason whatsoever !!!

We request you to sign this petition, share it with other like minded Indians & also pressurize your Corporator, MLA, MP, Ministers & religious leaders to force the government to stop the export of bovine meat & body parts.

Advocates are requested to file PIL's in various courts demanding a ban on such exports.

We require 1 Crore signatures for this campaign which will be presented to the Prime Minister of India for immediate & necessary action.
