I discovered with  great indignation and  great sadness in the newspaper "THE HINDU" of november 12th and december 3rd, that the Forest Department was currently conducting an operation to capture 25 wild elephants in ALUR and SAKLEHPUR forests.

The Asian elephant is an endangered species of which only between 35000 and 45000 individuals are remaining in the wild, half of them in INDIA.

INDIA must be proud to be home for them and it has the responsability to protect them.

This species is also necessary to balance the ecosystem of which it is part.

1)Have mesures been taken or envisaged to help the villagers without moving elephants? (relocation of residents,migration corridors)

2)What happened to the elephants? Used in temples, festivals, tourism, such as prisoners sentenced to a life of misery?

PLEASE make what's necessary in order to stop these irrational actions before it is too late for this species.

PLEASE let them live happily in their natural environment: mankind is supposed to adapt to the environment, not the animal.

FIND a solution to move people and let the elephants free.

Children of all countries will be grateful to you participating in the preservation of a species that is dear to them, and pride of your country .
