India is witnessing sharp, violent differences over cow slaughter and consumption of beef. Today we need peace and love. The heinous acts of brutal, fatal attacks on those eating beef must stop forthwith. At the same time, the cow slaughter also must stop forthwith – a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of India has clearly ruled that a total ban on slaughtering of cow and cow progeny is absolutely CONSTITUTIONAL and in accordance with the law of the land. The complete ban on cow slaughter does NOT violate any rights or laws as guaranteed by the Constitution of India to every Indian citizen.The Supreme Court of India has clearly held that Islam does not call for cow slaughter and there is no provision in any of the Islamic scriptures that require for cow slaughter on any day in general or on Bakri Eid in particular.

Enough of this legal jargon. Long story short – stop killing cows, as protecting the cows is in the national interest; stop killing human beings over consumption of beef, as it is in the interest of humanity, peace and love.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, please implement this ruling and ban cow slaughter in India.
