Actualización de la peticiónAn open letter from the women of Australia to Prime Minister Malcolm TurnbullWE DID IT: Ali is being brought to Australia for palliative care

Dear supporters,
This afternoon has been incredible.
Less than an hour ago The Guardian Australia reported that Ali has been transferred to Australia for palliative care after a sustained campaign of pressure from doctors, medical peak bodies, the media, members of the public, and even members of the Australian Border Force.
Ali's story is still a terribly sad one, but now he will at least be able to spend his final days in comfort and with dignity with members of his community by his side.
What this decision also means is that when enough Australians come together in support of human rights we can still make a change.
None of this would have happened without the support of over 24,000 Australians, 2,000 doctors and the great journalists that still work hard to ensure stories like Ali's are reported.
This wouldn't have happened without you.
On behalf of Australian Women in Support of Women on Nauru, thank you for signing this petition, for sharing it with your family, friends and your communities.
Australia still have a long path ahead of it when it comes to treating refugees fairly, but this small win just shows that as a country we have the capacity to do the right thing and give someone a fair go.
Thank you,
Luisa Low, Julie Macken and Wendy Bacon
