Abyan was transferred from Nauru on Sunday night to Australia for medical care following rape on the 18 July. She has been here for 4 days and has not seen a doctor or counsellor despite requesting to do so. She was seen by the IHMS nurse at the Villawood Detention Centre yesterday - the medical contractors for BorderForce. All Abyan asked for was time, she said " I am a mother - this is a hard decision to make". This morning Abyan was woken in her room in Villawood, and told that she had an appointment with Immigration. Some time later SERCO Guards came into the room with a bag and collected all her things. Abyan did not return to the room. Now we learn that the Minister has decreed that Abyan is to be sent back to Nauru without seeing a doctor of counsellor.
