Thousands of Canadians die every year on the transplant waiting list because there are not enough organs to go around. These people are our neighbors, our children, and our friends.
Over 90% of Canadians agree with organ donation but only a small fraction of those are actually registered to be organ donors.
Canada needs to stop fighting against the forces of inertia and save thousands of Canadian lives by legislating a federal opt-out organ donation policy.
Spain, the Scandinavian countries, and many other countries have done this successfully and completely eliminated the organ donation waiting list.
Come on. Let's be Canadians and do the right thing.
