The Belize Barrier Reef System is a World Heritage site, and the Garinagu People of Belize have had the following distinction; In 2001, UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) declared the Garifuna culture a “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” Therefore, do not feel that you cannot sign this petition because you are not Belizean, the resources and people to be negatively impacted are for the benefit of HUMANITY.
