Hon. Audley Shaw September 24 at 2:39pm Saved ! The Government has listened and carefully made a decision in the best interest of our beautiful island Jamaica. On June 22, 2016 I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Shaw, the Finance Minister of Jamaica, in Los Angeles. During our one on one 3 hour meeting we discussed in detail the Goat Islands. At that time we made an agreement that the Government would be the one to made any announcements at the appropriate time to the public. Here we are 3 months later with the official announcement, and we couldn't be happier. You as our supports need to know that collectively your voices were heard and those of you that left comments they were seen by this administration in part to help them come to the conclusion that the Goat Islands in the PBPA needed to be saved. To you we say a wholehearted Thank You! Well done! Now the real work begins. We will be looking forward to the UNESCO Man & Biosphere Reserve program to get back on track and for the application, that had been deferred by the previous administration, to move forward. We will also seek out partnerships and those of you interested in the Biosphere Reserve to take an active role in whatever manner to ensure that the project moves forward and runs smoothly.
