What a fabulous response, guys - thank you so much. This sends a tremendously powerful message to our local councillors - 50 % of local voters who have seen the poll have supported it. This just shows how unpopular this cruel policy is. Tomorrow, councillors have a chance to get on the right track. They have already deferred plans to change the library service for a year because their change plans lack substance. This is no different so use the same considered, consultative and inclusive approach to Respite Services. Please ensure that you email your relevant councillor with details of your objections and anger - they can only react to public pressure if they are made aware of it. If you feel as strongly about this as the impacted carers, please feel free to let them know how you will be voting in May. Speaking of making feelings known, there will be a public demonstration at 5 pm tomorrow at Wallasey Town Hall prior to the public council budget setting meeting at 6 pm.
