Victoria University's Film Screening night should be the chance for Film Students to showcase the hard work we have labored for months to complete. This event is an opportunity to present ourselves as creatives to industry professionals, many of us for the last time before leaving University. The decision to include a separate workshop's AI films from outside the film school alongside our projects is insulting, unprofessional, and a stain on the reputation of ourselves and the University we have chosen to study at.

We, as a collective of 2nd and 3rd year students, have invested copious amounts of time, money and trust towards this department - to have our work undermined like this is an immense betrayal we will not stand by. This petition is an effort to make our voices heard when they have not previously been at any point in the process of making this screening program. If the AI films are not pulled from the Screening, we may forbid our films from being shown alongside them entirely. We will not allow our filmmaking to be disgraced.
