At Kirklees Budget meeting last week, the budget approved did not include any further reductions to the library budgets which means our library has been saved. I have been continuing to lobby behind the scenes for this change.  We do though now need to use it, so I'd encourage everyone to call in occasionally and maybe borrow a book or get involved in the various activities at the library.

I do need to go and take down the banner which we have on the railings by the Black Bull.  Whilst providing this update, I'd like you to help me again by signing another petition. This one is to call for action by Kirklees Council to tackle the accident blackspot at the top of the village, the Carr Lane/Cross Lane and Sovereign junctions.  If I can get to 3000 signatures I can force the Council to debate the issue, so if you haven't already signed please do.
