I will become homeless because I cannot afford to live anywhere else other than public housing where the rent is subsidized.  A common attitude toward people in my situation is to insist that we should simply get a job.  However, the same gaps in legal protections that leave me vulnerable to discrimination in housing have also left me vulnerable to discrimination in employment.  Wisconsin business owners have refused to give me an application when I asked for one explicitly because I was visibly non-binary and my androgynous appearance could upset their conservative customers.  If you care about the outcome of my situation and the situation of other non-binary and disabled Wisconsinites, I hope you'll also add your signature to Lauren Hovde's petition to protect transgender rights in the workplace.
