My name is Jason, and I’m part of the Decision Maker team at Change.org. I recently reached out to the office of Representative Kevin Mannix to ensure they were aware of the petition and the concerns being raised about a potential strike at Chemeketa Community College.

While the college is located in a neighboring district, his office acknowledged that many of his constituents attend Chemeketa and could be directly impacted.

They had not been previously aware of the issue, but we shared the petition with them to help raise visibility. The office welcomed hearing from constituents and said they would be open to seeing if they could be of assistance.

At this time, they noted that the matter appears to be primarily in the hands of college leadership and other local officials rather than state legislators.
