New campaign for a holistic pandemic mental health plan

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since you heard from me. Australia, and the world at large, has gone through a lot this year. From the bushfires to the pandemic, it’s been a difficult time for everyone. I myself have been unable to seek mental health therapy for the past few months due to not being able to find work in the COVID-19 economic shutdown. I am deeply saddened by the struggles of so many others.

This is why I’m calling on the government for a long-term, holistic mental health support plan to help Australians during and post pandemic. Please sign the petition here

Yesterday, the Guardian reported that calls from Victorians to mental health support services have doubled in the past fortnight as COVID-19 cases rise. As effects of unemployment and social isolation are felt over the next two years, Australians need a robust mental health support system to help us cope.

Text-based crisis support and helplines are great initiatives. But what we need is long-term, one-on-one therapy to be able to deal with the economic and social repercussions of the pandemic in the long run.

Please sign and share my petition calling for more subsidised mental health sessions
