Hello! Many people do not think that animals have feelings and they are wrong! If they would only take a few minutes from their busy lives, to observe. Humans love their babies, so do animals. Some animals like the prairie dogs share a tight knit family unit and live in habitat call Prairie Dog Towns, with cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents. They are truly amazing, unique and a keystone species. I like to talk briefly about orangutans. These amazing sentient beings share 97% of their genes with us. Just imagine if there is a screw up in human genes, one would be born an orangutan! It breaks my heart to see them in captivity in cages. Many orangutans also share similar behaviour with us. The adolescent girls travel as a group. Their menstrual cycle is 29 to 30 days and usually last 3 to 4 days. They do not give birth till they are 15 or 16yrs of age. The mamas can breast feed their babies till they are 8 years old where mamas will teach them how to survive when they leave to face the harsh cruel world, and the girls usually returns to visit their mama. They make a new tree top nests with tree branches to sleep in everyday and even make pillows and blankets with leaves! At the same time, I also like to share a heartbreaking and disgusting story of 2003 with everyone, if you have not read about it yourselves. It is about a female orangutan, called Pony, forced into servitude to work as prostitute in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Kalimantan borders with Borneo, which part of Malaysia. She was found chained to a wall lying on a mattress. Her body was shaved. Her madam would dress her up as a girl. If a man walked near her, she would turn, presents herself and start gyrating. Thankfully she was rescued. Everyday, I am more disgusted by humans than I did yesterday. I used to be rather religious. These days, I question God’s existence. If God exists, how can he/she allow such heinous acts to be inflicted upon innocent animals every second of the day? Bestiality is a worldwide problem and it will only get worst. I endure my heartbreak only because I know what the poor innocent animals have to endure everyday, is a million times worst. This is why we much speak up for all animals. PS: Apparently forcing female orangutan into prostitution is common among Asian logging companies and palm plantations. The males do not fare any better, they are forced into boxing rings. Coaxed and encouraged to fight each other by throwing food at them to reinforce the behavior. All to entertain humans.
