Wednesday Action. Fake Letter, Strong Letter...

Good Wednesday, All!
The Secretary of Education sent a suspiciously weak letter to the colleges Monday. It was supposed to be her "throwing down the Gauntlet", but really read like something the colleges could have written themselves. Turns out, the letter WAS DRAFTED by at least 4 colleges Presidents. They are all in on it. Fake fights like these are what allow this loan scam to continue.
We are sending STRONG LETTERS. We're asking everyone to send an email backing up this one that we sent over the weekend to Dick Durbin's Chief of Staff Will you please? He owes us. This one is very important.
Will you also send an email like this one to the President of Harvard University, Alan Garber? We sent him this letter (both email and hard copy) in April with a 3 month confidentiality clause. That three months is now expired and he has done nothing. So we need to hit him hard. These college Presidents need to be pushed. Very hard. They are the key players whose moral failing on this issue is most blatant. These are supposed to be good people with a mission to serve their communities. They are doing the opposite by ruining their communities in debt. This one is maybe even more important than the letter to Durbin.
We simply have to fight, folks. No one in Washington is going to fight for us. We- each of us- have to fight this battle, which is your battle. These actions are the most efficient, effective use of your time for fighting for student loan justice. Please do you part.
