Everyone-
When we started this petition in March 2020, almost no one was talking about cancelling student loans by executive order. For the first 6 months, we were by and large a voice in the wilderness calling for this. It was only when the petition started really rocking, and getting reported on nationally that Senators Warren and Schumer embraced the concept and started running with it. That all started here, with us.
Also, that we now have good bankruptcy legislation in Congress to fight for is due largely to our efforts, both behind the scenes and publicly. We, here, are the tip of the spear in the fight to get this student loan threat solved. We are the pioneers I really hope that you can appreciate that.
We're glad that you found us and signed the petition, but we REALLY need you helping us in the daily actions that we do. This problem will NOT get solved with your signature alone.
This is your problem, and a big one. It will require your very serious efforts to get these loans gone. Please don't sit back, wait, watch, and worry. That helps NO ONE, least of all YOU. Please help us. You'll be glad you did!

Senator Rubio wrote a terrible OPED yesterday. We need to respond. Both of these guys should be on our side. I am actually pretty optimistic that we'll be able to use this to get Senator Rubio to cosponsor S. 2598, along with the two other republicans (John Cornyn and Josh Hawley) that we already have!
We are in, by far, the best position we have EVER been in in our 16 years of fighting this battle. At LONG LAST, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Think about that. GREAT THANKS to everyone who has been stepping up lately. We are the pioneers.
